We celebrated my mum's 70th birthday with lunch on Saturday 14th Dec and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food and service were outstanding from start to finish. This is the kind of restaurant where your glass is always full, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere makes you feel completely at ease. As a party of five, including our youngest at just 9 years old, we were delighted to find the menu catered perfectly for everyone. I opted for the steak, which was cooked to perfection—absolutely delicious. The personal touch of the owner coming over to greet us and chat was a lovely gesture, adding to the friendly and inclusive vibe. A highlight of the meal was dessert, when the owner surprised my mum with a homemade cake. Not only was it a thoughtful touch, but the cake itself was superb—clearly made with care and expertise. It’s those small details that set Woods restaurant apart from all others and made this occasion truly memorable. The final bill came to 165, which I felt was excellent value for such high-quality food and service. I honestly can’t recommend this restaurant enough. If you’re considering a meal out, don’t hesitate—book a table and enjoy one of the best dining experiences Bath has to offer!

Even though I only had a starter, I have to give a 5 star to this restaurant!! I planned my trip in Bath and reserved this spot far ahead. However, I fell sick right on the day and had little appetite. The restaurant was really understanding and they made me feel welcomed regardless. Was sad that their fish soup was out but their tomato soup was also delicious and made me feel better. There is also complimentary bread and butter. Don't know if I will be back in Bath in the future, but if I do, I will definitely give them another try.

Great restaurant, the atmosphere is excellent and the staff are attentive and welcoming. The food was top notch, I had the duck and the other halve had hake, perfection. My only criticism and even though they were cooked well, is that the boiled potatoes and broccoli were slightly disappointing. I would highly recommend woods to friends/family.

Easily one of the best restaurants I have ever been. Family run business for more than 40 years, the owners were amazing (I had a lovely chat about horses), ambiance great, and outstanding food. On top of that, prices are very reasonable. Unmissable experience if in Bath

Dinner for 2 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy (nice atmosphere, though sometimes hard to hear each other speak). Excellent service, especially from the 2 senior female servers (instant eye contact when we wanted an extra glass of wine and then the bill). Haddock Croquettes & Goats Cheese starters. Hake & Sea Bream mains (the Sea Bream sauce was delicious). Tiramisu pudding. There aren't any original or surprising dishes on the menu, but the food is very well cooked and presented. All in all its what you'd expect from a good brasserie restaurant. I'm pleased that a family run restaurant like this can thrive & survive in Bath. My only negative... Woods should be more imaginative with the vegegarian option. I might have chosen it when I visited, but I wasn't interested in a vegetable curry.

I had a fantastic dining experience at The Woods Restaurant! The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned, so I didn’t need to add any extra salt or seasoning. We enjoyed a beautifully cooked steak with crispy fries, a perfectly balanced fish dish with delicate flavors, and a delightful dessert that was both visually stunning and delicious. And the highlight of the evening? Their have a Hungarian dessert wine - Tokaji Edes Szomorodni - truly the non plus ultra! A wonderful place with great ambiance, excellent service, and outstanding flavors. Highly recommend!
